Folding Back the Knot Formation

The green rings (5&6) will be folded back and the red rings (3&4) will be angled open into a knot formation, revealing a rectangular opening within this formation, which will hold the next pair of rings as the Byzantine chain continues.

Notice that the #5 ring folds back to lay on the outside of the #1 ring.
