The Crown design, pages 80 to 83, allows the Byzantine chain to be studded with perpendicular crown formations that support the embellishment of a strand of semiprecious beads. The example bracelet is crafted from sterling silver round wire and amethyst beads. Because the crown formations are added to only one side of the base chain, the beads create a wide bracelet that lies flat on the wrist, with the beads pointing outwards.
