Japanese 12-1 Chain Tutorial

The Japanese 12-1 is a basic chain-maille pattern that was woven and sandwiched between sheets of leather to protect Samurai warriors. This brief tutorial will help to illustrate the assemble sequence of this age-old radial chain pattern into a three-sided triangle shape that I refer to in the 2nd book as a Triangle Key Fob.

The example image is a Triangle Key Fob, crafted by assembling ten silver 15-gauge, 5mm ID jump rings; thirty-six bronze 19-gauge, 3.1mm ID jump rings; and a steel key ring.
