I hope you are all braving the winter weather,
adding extra marshmallows to your hot chocolate,
and looking longingly towards an early Springtime.
third book

I am very excited to announce that my fourth book, Chain and Bead Jewelry Soldering Connections, is finally coming to print. I recently received the printers proof copy, and the print-on-demand printing quality is excellent. I deeply appreciate the 80+ people who have pre-purchased or reserved a copy of this fourth book, and for your enduring patience through the multiple delays as this book comes to fruition.

I should receive my shipment of books in late February - early March, and will be mailing out signed copies to the pre-purchasers with free shipping, and emailing PayPal invoices to those that have reserved a signed copy from me with priority mail shipping charges. Until I receive my books, I will continue to offer the options to reserve a signed copy or pre-purchase and receive free shipping worldwide.

My goal with this fourth 'self-published' book is to illustrate a simplified, safe, and user-friendly technique for soldering metal jump rings and creating large Argentium headpin wires, to be combined with metal and gemstone beads into stunning jewelry designs.

I am honored to have a jewelry article on the Forged Arch Bracelet, from my upcoming fourth book, featured in the Feb-March issue of Step-by-Step Wire Jewelry magazine, which is currently available at newsstands nationwide.

The Forged Arch Bracelet design, creates large 16-gauge Argentium sterling silver headpins with a propane torch and then uses a hammer against anvil to forge each wire into a curved arch formation before connecting each wire's headpin ball within the next wire's small loop in a repetitive pattern.

Adding icing to the cake, there is also a very kind book review of my recently released 3rd book by Sara Richardson, associate editor at Step-by-Step Wire Jewelry magazine; you can read a transcript of her review by scrolling down on the 3rd book page.

It must be my lucky week with a trifecta of publications, as I have also received my complimentary copy of Wirework magazines Spring issue, which features a step-by-step article on the Beaded Romanov Bracelet from the 3rd book.

The Beaded Romanov Bracelet starts by bending two double-loops to set a 6mm bead between, the Byzantine chain sections are then built off of each double-loop, and the beaded chain sections are then combined with a three-ring spiraling Flower formation into a repetitive pattern. If you would like to explore your jewelry adventure, I have instructional jewelry kits for this bracelet and matching earrings on my supplies page.

With the price of silver at a 40-year high, I have had to make some tough decisions to keep my signature line of instructional jewelry kits at a crafting price point. To this effect, I am now offering 36 kits with bronze and glass findings for your jewelry adventure. Jewelry Bronze findings have the strength of sterling silver, the look of gold, and with time will darken to a rich 'bronze' color. These economically-pressured changes are allowing me to retail my kits at lower prices ($12-25), offer new designs such as the Square Bracelet (shown at left), and wholesale these kits to a variety of distributors worldwide. I have recently supplied my jewelry kits to AussieMaille in Australia, and have some exciting new negotiations in the works.

I have been invited to give a speaking presentation to the Toronto Bead Society, and lead a series of beaded chain workshops at Bead FX Studio in Toronto this coming June. To view the seven jewelry workshops that I will be offering, please visit my workshop page, and sign up with Bead FX soon as these classes are sure to sell out.

Take care my friends, may your path be paved in gold and enlightened by bliss, sdp.
