I hope you are all enjoying the end of summer,
and looking forward to the coming winter weather;
as Taos Ski Valley gets blanketed in white fluffiness.
third book

My 3rd book, Chain and Bead Jewelry Geometric Connections is less than a month away from being released; I recently received an advance copy and it looks AWESOME.

This third title continues my exploration into cold-connecting beaded chain jewelry designs that I began in my first and second books, expanding my published repertoire
into a sophisticated series of geometry-inspired shapes and patterns. I am currently offering the options to reserve a signed copy or pre-purchase now and receive free shipping worldwide when it releases in November.

Thank you to the 90 people who have pre-purchased or reserved a copy of this 3rd book.

The good folks at Bead&Button magazine have confirmed that they will be doing a book review of my third title in their April 2011 issue, which is very exciting free publicity!

Wirework magazine will be featuring a step-by-step article on the Beaded Romanov Bracelet, shown at left, from the 3rd book in their Spring issue, available February 15th.
I have instructional jewelry kits for this bracelet and matching earrings on my supplies page.

For your reading enjoyment, here is a link to a Q&A that I did for Wirework magazine.

I am honored to have a step-by-step jewelry article on the Beaded Spiral Earrings featured in the October issue of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist magazine, shown at left, which is currently available at newsstands nationwide.

The Beaded Spiral Earrings design, from my upcoming 4th book, assembles twenty large diameter jump rings in a continuous spiraling pattern to create a ball formation, adding a lapis lazuli bead to the 19th ring, and the earring back to the 20th ring.

third book

After months of hard work and several delays, my fourth book is slowly coming to completion. A design team at the printing company has been scheduled to redesign the book's cover and provide a printed sample to proof next month. Shown at left is a mock cover design for the 4th book, Chain and Bead Jewelry 20 Simple Solder Projects.

My goal with this fourth 'self-published' book is to illustrate a simplified, safe, and user-friendly technique for soldering metal jump rings and creating large Argentium headpin wires, to be combined with metal and gemstone beads into stunning jewelry designs.

I am currently offering the options to reserve a signed copy or pre-purchase now and receive free shipping worldwide when it releases in December 2010.

Thank you to the 50+ people who have pre-purchased or reserved a copy of this fourth book, and for your enduring patience through the multiple delays of this book's printing.

mandrel-tip pliers

Sorry for being sold out of the smaller 3.1/3.9mm Mandrel-tip pliers for the past two months, but I just received my next shipment of 30 tools; so if you have been wanting to acquire these amazing bead-setting pliers, they are currently available online.

For the beaded chain projects in the second book, I assisted Swanstrom Tool Company in developing these Mandrel-tip pliers. As shown, one mandrel jaw is a consistent 3.1mm and the other jaw is a consistent 3.9mm diameter. This gives my students and me the ability to wrap perfect double-loop bead settings. There is a larger version of the Mandrel-tip pliers, which has a 3.5mm and a 4.5mm jaw, for working with larger 18-gauge wire.

For a full demonstration on how to utilize this revolutionary hand tool, and why they are superior to the standard round-nose pliers. I have posted several beaded chain tutorials, including the Beaded Rosary, Beaded Byzantine, and Beaded Inca Puño tutorials.

I have been working with an amazing silver findings company over the past few years to produce my signature S-clasps, 19-gauge headpins, and 'kerf-less' jump rings. I am proud to announce that the Crafted Findings Company has just released six new beaded chain instructional jewelry kits from my first published book, with more to come in the future.

Crafted Findings is now offering two pendants and four bracelets in sterling silver and gemstone beads for the following projects: Starfish Pendant, Celtic Pendant, Byzantine Bracelet, Inca Puño Bracelet, Zigzag Bracelet (shown at left), and Crown Bracelet.

I also have a variety of instructional jewelry kits that I assemble myself from the upcoming 3rd book on my supplies page, including the Beaded Snowflake Earrings, Beaded Fish Earrings (shown at left), Beaded Romanov Earrings, Beaded Romanov Bracelet, and a tri-metal Serrated Byzantine Bracelet for all your crafting needs.
