The Parallel design, pages 90 to 91, allows the Byzantine chain to be enhanced with sequentially placed loops that support a strand of gemstone beads. The example bracelet is crafted from copper round wire and set with a strand of black onyx beads. This technique creates a naturally curved bracelet, as the length of the gemstones is slightly longer than the length of the base Byzantine chain.
