Handcrafted Magnetic Clasp : 1-hour wire intro workshop In this clasp-making workshop we will be exploring the earth’s magnetic pull to securely hold your handcrafted jewelry. I will demonstrate how to use a small propane torch to ball the end of the 18-gauge wire. We will then add a series of magnetic beads onto the wire, keeping opposite polar attraction consistent. The remaining wire receives a double loop that serves to be connected with a pair of 14-gauge rings. This clasp design is especially designed to keep a secure attachment while allowing easy removal for arthritic hands that are foiled by tiny lobster claw clasps. No experience necessary. Ages 12 and over. |
