| JEWELRY WORKSHOP SCHEDULE I apologize, but I currently do not have plans to lead any jewelry workshops in the foreseeable future, since the Toronto and Austin classes were cancelled due to low enrollment. I feel this has more to do with the slow economy, than lack of interest in my beaded chain jewelry designs, as the books, kits, and DVD's continue to sell quite well around the globe. However, I have had the blessed opportunity to lead hundreds of
workshops over the past decade, inspiring thousands of wonderful
students. As well, this non-teaching has allowed me to stay in beautiful
Taos to concentrate on my book series, and will allow me the freedom
to fulfill my dream of backpacking around the world once I finish
the 5th and 6th books. |

I am excited to lead four workshops in Austin at the Creative Side Jewelry Academy in September, and planning to be the guest speaker for the Austin Bead Society. Unfortunately, the September dates did not have the enrollment numbers
to justify my drive to Austin, so we were planning to re-schedule
for the Spring, between March & May 2012, but have since mutually
decided to indefinitely suspend these classes. |

Welcome to a collection of four chain patterns to
create a stellar beaded chain design that I dreamed up for the third
book’s crescendo. The Incan Triangle weaves a triangle
of red carnelian beads into a larger triangle of bronze chainmaille.
The larger chain triangle is composed of three Tripoli forms connected
by lengths of Petal chain, without un-spiraling the central three-ring
Flower formation. The beaded Triangle pendant will be temporarily
set onto a cotton cords, as we dive into assembling the necklace
length of Inca Puño
chain. The class will conclude with an S-clasp forging demo

Welcome to the apex of geometric and organic chain
patterns utilized to design the final project of the third
book. The Beaded Butterfly weaves a variety of stunning gemstone
beads into the four wings of a silver frame that is composed of
Tripoli formations and Byzantine chain lengths. The Butterfly pendants
will be temporarily set onto cotton cords, as we dive into assembling
the silver jump rings needed for a necklace length of Byzantine
chain, or optional Jens Pind chain.
The class will conclude with a demonstration on handcrafting a super-strong

Welcome to the next plateau of your jewelry adventure
- join me for this workshop to create the unique findings that will
be assembled into the eye-catching Money Earrings and Bracelet designs.
Learn to make Argentium sterling silver headpins in both 16- and
19-gauge wires with a simple propane torch. The larger headpins
will be forged for strength and connected Tear to Loop in a repeating
pattern, then soldering each loop closed. Each Tear-Loop wire will
then be wrapped with a precisely cut one dollar bill and secured
with an adhesive. The smaller headpins will be used to bend a matching
pair of earring backs to suspend the wrapped Money lengths, and
also to set magnetic beads into a clasp to complete the seven-sided

Welcome to your next adventure in creative wire working - join me for this workshop to create the unique findings that will be assembled into the Figure Eight Earrings and Bracelet designs. We will cover the basics of soldering with Argentium paste and a butane torch to secure each wire loop to be twisted into a Figure 8. Each loop of the Figure Eight formation is then embellished with striking gemstone beads in a reflective pattern on fine wire. A pair of beaded Eights will be set onto custom earring backs, and the remaining Eights will be assembled with a five-ring Flower formation between into a stunning bracelet design. The class will conclude with an S-clasp forging demo by hammer and anvil to complete the bracelet length.

I have been invited by Bead FX to lead a series of beaded chain workshops, and will be giving a presentation to the Toronto Bead Society on Thursday night, while in Toronto. Unfortunately, the June dates did not have the enrollment
numbers to justify my flight to Toronto, so were are planning to
re-schedule for 2012 with more advanced projects, but have since
mutually decided to indefinitely suspend these classes. |
